Our Christian Foundation

Purple Hostel is a Christian hostel founded on Christian values. The hostel recognises only two genders — male and female — and accommodation is provided on this basis. The hostel does not accommodate, condone, or tolerate any form of immorality or conduct that contradicts these values, including homosexuality, lesbianism, transgenderism, and any related behaviour.

All residents are expected to uphold the moral standards of the hostel at all times. By proceeding with this application, you confirm that you have read and accept this foundation.

Once-off term payments may be made in cash at the office or via direct bank transfer. Monthly payments must be made by automated debit order only — we do not accept manual monthly payments. Bank deposits go to the school’s Standard Bank Savings Account Number: 6000 694 1078, Grootfontein Branch.

Hostel Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every student admitted to the hostel. We recommend reading them in full before you complete the application form above — all rules are binding once your child is enrolled.

Payment Methods & Bank Details

Debit Orders & Payment Schedule

Parents choosing the monthly option are required to set up a debit order. The debit order runs on the 1st day of each month, or on any preferred date you select before the 1st. Monthly fees are due on or before the 1st day of each month following registration and first payment. Hostel fees are payable every month of the academic year including during holidays, from January to November. No payments are required in December.

Student Pick-up Policy

Hostel learners can only be picked up by guardians indicated on this form. The hostel will not release students to any parent or guardian whose information is not on file, unless otherwise arranged and communicated in advance by parents.

Curfew Time

All hostel learners returning from holidays or home weekends are required to report to the hostel no later than 18:00 (6:00 PM).

Mid-Term & End-of-Term Withdrawal

Learners may not be removed from the hostel during term time unless they have been expelled or for another reason approved by hostel management, such as a serious safety concern or an early school closure declared by the relevant authority. A parent or guardian who wishes to withdraw their child at the end of a term must give written notification at least two weeks before the term concludes. Because a mid-term removal disrupts the hostel’s planned finances and occupies a bed that could otherwise have been given to another student, a further month’s fee applies, as explained in the next policy.

Early Removal, Suspension & Expulsion

Students who are suspended, or who are removed from the hostel mid-term, are the only residents required to keep paying hostel fees while they are no longer living in the hostel. In these cases one further month’s fee is payable. This payment holds and reserves the student’s place, and covers the hostel’s fixed commitments — staffing, meals, accommodation, and supervision — which are budgeted and arranged well in advance and cannot be recovered at short notice. The hostel has also, in the past, had to turn potential students away because beds were already occupied, so the further month’s fee protects the place of a student who is expected to return. Students who are expelled are not required to pay for the following month. In every case, where payment has already been made to the hostel, no refunds will be entertained.

Return After Mid-Term Withdrawal & Expulsion

A student who leaves the hostel mid-term will not be permitted to return to the hostel within the same academic year. Such a student may only be enrolled again for the following academic year. A student who is expelled from the hostel will not be allowed to return to the hostel under any circumstances, and may not apply for hostel accommodation at any point in the future.

Electronic Devices & Cellphone Policy

Laptops, tablets, iPads, and any other communicative electronic devices are not permitted in the hostel. Exceptions are granted only under special circumstances and with prior written permission from hostel management. From 2027, parents who wish for their children to bring cellphones to the hostel may do so, on the following conditions: (1) all phones must be handed to the hostel matron on arrival, and students are only allowed to use these phones on Fridays and Saturdays; and (2) the hostel will not be responsible for the loss or theft of cellphones, whether while in the possession of the hostel matron or the student.

Christian Foundation & Conduct Standards

By completing the application form, both the student and parent/guardian agree to abide by all of the above terms and conditions. Failure to comply may result in termination of hostel services.
